A fine Georgian 18kt gold seal set with a carnelian intaglio carved with the words I. Evcpuo Bois (possibly a Roman intaglio repurposed). This historically significant piece comes with an original tag indicating that the stone was picked up and set by Lieutenant General Lord Crewe during his time in Liège.

John Crewe, 2nd Baron Crewe (1772–1835), was an English soldier and peer from a distinguished Whig family. He rose through the ranks of the British Army, serving in the Macartney Embassy to China in 1793, and later achieving the rank of Lieutenant General. This seal not only embodies Georgian craftsmanship but also carries provenance tied to a notable figure in British history.
