Vintage Krementz Mirrored Jewellery Suite Presentation Box
A distinctive mid-century jewellery presentation box signed Krementz, designed for a jewellery suite, brooch-and-earring set or other coordinated group of jewels.
The shaped case is covered in dark blue leather and opens to reveal a fitted mirror inside the lid. The lower compartment is lined in black velvet and includes several discreet mounting openings and retaining points, allowing different pieces of jewellery to be arranged together.
The unusual shield-like form, mirrored lid and gilt interior framework give the box a decorative dressing-table appearance. Although suitable for display on a dressing table, the fitted lower interior indicates that it was originally intended as a presentation case for jewellery rather than general storage.
Krementz produced jewellery and branded presentation cases throughout the mid-20th century, with comparable boxes commonly associated with jewellery from the 1950s and 1960s.
Dimensions -
Exterior: Length: Approximately 9cm; Width: Approximately 9cm; Height: Approximately 9cm
Usable interior: Length: Approximately 7.7cm; Width: Approximately 7.5cm
Condition :
Fair vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. The blue leather exterior shows rubbing, minor marks and light surface wear. The gilt-toned interior frame displays tarnishing and age-related discolouration. The mirror has light dust and minor surface marks. The black velvet base shows compression, small mounting holes and impressions from its original jewellery arrangement. The Krementz branding remains clearly visible.
